1343006 - Exception: krb_error 14 KDC has no support for encryption type (14)

Symptom

  • Some of all users cannot login to BI Launchpad (BI 4.0), but client tools and CMC work fine.
  • Some or all users cannot login to java Infoview or Java CMC (XI 3.x) but client tools, .NET Infoview, and CMC work fine.
  • Some or all users cannot login to java Infoview (XIR2), but client tools and .NET Infoview/CMC as well as Java CMC work fine.
  • Manual Active Directory (AD) authentication fails, while AD SSO functions properly
  • In an environment with Windows 2008 AD controllers, users cannot login to Java Infoview (XI 3.1) or BI Launchpad (BI 4.0)
  • kinit produces error below
