1349807 - 'DBD:Failed to Initialize the Essbase API...' error when connection to Essbase 7.1.x from Voyager or OLAP Universe in BOXI 3.1 Windows 2003 Server

Symptom

  • When trying to setup a Universe connection to Hyperion Essbase 7.x cube in the Universe Designer of Business Objects Enterprise 3.1, the following error appears:

'DBD:Failed to Initialize the Essbase API. Verify that an appropriate Essbase client version is installed.'

  • When trying to setup an Voyager connection to Hyperion Essbase 7.x cube in the Central Management Console (CMC), the following error appears:

'DBD:Failed to Initialize the Essbase API. Verify that an appropriate Essbase client version is installed'
