Symptom
- Crystal Reports crashes when report is run or refreshed
- Error Message appears with following options (see screenshot in attachment below):
"Crystal Reports has stopped working.
Check online for a solution or close program.
Close program"
Reproducing the Issue
1. Create a function 'GRS_UPDATE_ABC' based on table 'ABC' in Oracle
2. Create a report based on the function as follows:
a. Use ODBC or native Oracle connection to connect to Oracle
b. In Database Expert, select table ABC
c. Add fields to display: CCN, VAF and user_alpha1
d. Click finish
3. Go in Design mode> Insert sub-report
a. Name subreport > Click on Report Wizard
b. Click 'Add Command' and type the following statement: SELECT GRS_UPDATE_ABC('{?CCN}','?ABC}')
FROM DUAL
c. Click on 'Create' parameter and create 2 parameters: 'VAF' and 'CCN' >Click OK
d. Enter Values for VAF and CCN
e. Click ok and finish
4. Insert sub-report in details section
5. Right-Click > Change subreport links and select ABC.CCN and ABC.VAF
6. For ABC.CCN, select subreport parameter '?CCN' and for ABC.VAF select parameter '?VAF'
7. Click ok
8. Refresh the report.

Note: This report runs fine on Crystal XI Release 2 Service Pack 4.
Cause
Resolution
This is issue has been fixed. Please refer to the Readme file to check the mentioned ADAPT number.
Install Fix Pack 2.1 for Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack 2.
