1359992 - Authentication errors when using keytab file within Windows 2003 environment

Symptom

  • Use of the "keytab" vintela to enable SSO fails to load and combination of errors appear (using password option within the Tomcat gives no problems)
  • Errors include "Page cannot be found", "http 500", "http 404" and a variety of "wedgetail" errors (Unfortunately too many variable to isolate 1 error message at this time)
  • Testing the keytab with KB 1359035 fails with preauthentication errors (with both RC4 and DES)
  • Packet scanning the "kinit" command reveals "KRB Error : KRB5KDC_ERR_PREAUTH_FAILED"
