1360804 - Universe can not get correct Chinese characters from IBM DB2 database - BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1

Symptom

  • Can not display correct Chinese characters in Web Intelligence reports and Desktop Intelligence reports.
  • When previewing table values in Universe Designer, all Chinese characters stored in the IBM DB2 database are shown as strange symbols.
  • When running SELECT SQL command in IBM DB2 Command Window, all Chinese characters are shown correctly.
  • Universe in BOE XI Release 2 system can return correct Chinese characters with exactly the same IBM DB2 configuration.
