Symptom

After a new install or an upgrade

  •        "Load PAS Model" in Entry and Approval fails with error "Load started but not finished;check contents of wfmde_update_<user_name>.trc"
  • "Build model" in Cube Builder fails.
  • The trace files shows error

'[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near '|'.' if using Microsoft SQL Server

or 'ORA-00904: "IFNULL": invalid identifier' if using Oracle
