Symptom
Initial Load of Crystal Report, in Infoview, takes a long time to show the prompts, even though they are static
Cause
There are three optional settings that may be effecting the load of the initial prompts. It is possible that:
- There is a printer selected in Page Setup, that exists on the client machine, but does not exist on the sever
- The report option is set to "Verify On First Refresh"
- The report option is set to "Verify Stored Procedure on First Refresh"
Resolution
- Open Report in Crystal Reports Full Client
- Click File/Page Setup
- Click "No Printer" -- This will force the report, when run on the server, to be set automatically to the default printer, instead of looking for the printer driver that was set up on the client machine where the report was developed
- Click "OK"
- Click on File/Report Options
- Remove the check mark from "Verify On First Refresh" and "Verify Stored Procedures On First Refresh" -- This will force the report to skip the process of querying the database to verify metadata information
- Click "OK"
