Symptom
In an XI R2 system where the XI application has to navigate a firewall to the CMS and Audit databases, audit data is successfully written to the audit database, but intermittently stops. (DB2AuditDBSS_impl.cpp:41). (0 : [IBM][CLI Driver] SQL30081N A communication error has been detected. Communication protocol being used: "TCP/IP". Communication API being used: "SOCKETS". Location where the error was detected: "<ip address>". Communication function detecting the error: "send". Protocol specific error code(s): "32", "*", "0". SQLSTATE=08001).
