Symptom
- Central Management Server (CMS) won't start
- Selecting Server Intelligence Agent properties > Configuration tab from the Central Configuration Manager (CCM), shows the error
- "Failed to retrieve cluster name from the database. Reason: BusinessObjects Enterprise CMS: Unable to connect to the CMS system database"
- Windows Event Viewer may contain the following messages:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: BusinessObjects_CMS
Event ID: 35101
Description: Initialisation error (Cause: Internal error - Unknown exception)
Event Type: Information
Event Source: Server Intelligence Agent
Event ID: 4096
Description:
Server Intelligence Agent : the <ServerName>.CentralManagementServer stopped with exit code = 0 (0x0).
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Server Intelligence Agent
Event ID: 4096
Description:
Server Intelligence Agent : the <ServerName>.CentralManagementServer stopped unexpectedly.
- On Unix cmsdbsetup.sh returns the error:
- err: ERROR Failed to get cluster name. (STU00165)
- err: Error description: Internal error: An unkown exception has occurred
