Error "COM exception" when attempting to logon to a SAP BI System in Xcelsius

Environment

Xcelsius 2008 Service Pack 3 Fix Pack 3.1

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Xcelsius 2008 (Service Pack 3 Fix Pack 3.1) on Windows Vista.
  2. Go to Data -> Connections menu and add a new SAP NetWeaver BW Connection.
  3. Now in the 'Data Manager' window, navigate to the 'Definition' tab and Click on 'Browse'.
  4. Enter Username and Password in the logon dialog box and Click on OK.
  5. Notice that the COM Exception error message appears.

Cause

This issue has been identified and logged under Problem Report ID ADAPT01392534.

Resolution

This issue has been resolved in Xcelsius 2008 Service Pack 3 Fix Pack 3.2.
