1405976 - Unable to use the option "Allow Custom Values" for Dynamic Parameter in Crystal Reports

Symptom

  • Option to allow custom values grayed out.
  • The option for 'Allow Custom value' is available in a Static parameter and not in Dynamic parameter in Crystal Reports.

Environment

  • SAP Crystal Reports 2020
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2025

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In Crystal Reports, create a report based off any data source.
  2. Right Click On Parameter tab in Field explorer and create a new parameter.
  3. Choose the list of values as Dynamic.
  4. Notice it is not possible to select the option to add custom values.

 

Cause

Dynamic list of values are displayed on runtime in Crystal Reports, and this is why it does not allow custom values.

Resolution

  • The suggestion is to propose a product enhancement on the SAP Customer Influence.
