1406795 - Error: "Fail to create credential. (63) - No service creds" for manual AD authentication

Symptom

  • Error: "LoginContext failed. No valid credentials provided (Mechanism level: Fail to create credential. (63) - No service creds)" when performing Manual AD authentication in XI 3.1 or BI 4.x
  • Important note: the error for this can vary and the above error can occur for other reasons (such as delegation or encryption problems)
  • In a Multi Domain, user from the child domain in another AD tree are failing to log on to Java InfoView, with the following error:
    "LoginContext failed. No valid credentials provided (Mechanism level: Fail to create credentials. (63) - No service creds)"
  • AD users from certain domains can access client tools such as designer, deski, crystal reports, CCM, business views, but cannot logon via web/app (tomcat, weblogic, websphere, etc)

Also To NOTE: krb5.ini configuration is a requirement of the java SDK (typically Oracle or IBM) and not part of the SAP supported product. This KB was written as a guideline to follow. If any issues should occur please seek guidence from your java SDK vendor or search for solutions on google

  • This issue is due to any manual logon using a java SDK krb5 file (Sun, Oracle, IBM, SAP, MIT, etc)
