1421057 - Error: "crw32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" when creating a link between tables

The following issue was answered in the Crystal Reports Data Connectivity forum:

I am currently trialling CR 2008 and have found issues trying to connect to a number of tables that are hyphenated e.g. rept-entryheader. Whilst I can see the tables and names through Database Expert (i.e. available data sources) when I try to select them the tables loose their names and when attempting to create a link between tables CR crashes with "crw32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close".

I have uninstalled and reinstalled on a couple of occasions and can confirm that according to add/remove programs Crystal Reports for .NET framework 2.0 (x86) is installed.
