Symptom
How to configure a 64-bit Java Web Application Server on a UNIX or Linux Server with Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 Service Pack 2 and the SAP Integration Kit XI 3.1 SP2.
Known Issues:
The SAP Authentication tab in the CMC may not be present, does not function, or opens a blank window.
When trying to import roles in the CMC Authentication screen from an SAP BW server, the role import tab produces one of the following messages:
- JCO.classInitialize(): Could not load middleware layer 'com.sap.mw.jco.rfc.MiddlewareRFC' JCO.nativeInit(): Could not initialize dynamic link library sapjcorfc
- com/sap/mw/jco/JCO$Function
This howto has been created to highlight the interaction of Business Objects Enterprise, and the Web Application Server, and the SAP Java Connector. The example provided is for Tomcat 5.5 but the environment and many of the directory settings are also applicable to other Web Application servers. Processes to be followed may have to be changed if using a different Web Application Server. Please modify accordingly. Please consult with your Web Application Server administrator before proceding.
