Symptom
- A Crystal repot has a main report created on Xtreme Business Views and Sub report on Dynamic Data Connection
- 'Define Named Group' window appear muddled.
Environment
- Crystal Reports 2008 SP2
- BusinessObjects Enterprise 3.1 SP2
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a Main report based on Xtreme Sample Business Views.
- Create a Sub report based on Dynamic Data connection with a Group in created on the Field Contact-Position
- On the Design View of the sub report right click->Change Group.
- In the common Tab select 'In specified order' in the drop down.
- Select Specified Order Tab.
- The Parameter Prompt window 'Enter Values' comes up.
- Select the Dynamic Data Connection Parameter.
- Click Ok. The Change Group Options window is displayed.
- Add a name or select a group.
- The Define Named Group window is displayed which is muddled.
Resolution
1. Create a Main report based on Xtreme Sample Business Views.
2. Create a Sub report based on Dynamic Data connection with a Grouping created on the Field Contact-Position.
3. On the Design View of the sub report right click->Change Group.
4. In the common Tab select "in specified order" in the drop down
5. Select Specified Order Tab.
6. Click on New and the Define Named Group window is displayed which is muddled
7. Select the parameter first and click OK, you will see the initially muddled dialogue box appearing appropriately.
