Symptom
Italic formatting is lost when exporting a report with Italic Asian characters (Chinese, Japan, Korean) in Crystal Report Java SDK application
Environment
- Crystal Report Java SDK
- Crystal Report for Eclipse V2
- Crystal Report for Eclipse V1
- Crystal Reports 2008
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a Crystal Report containing Asian characters (Chinese, Japan, Korean) characters.
- Apply the Italic style to the above Asian characters.
- A custom SDK application using Crystal Report Java SDK loads and displays the report.
- Click EXPORT button on the Viewer to export the report to PDF format.
- Open the PDF file and find out that Italic formatting is lost.
Cause
The issue has been identified and logged under Problem Report ID ADAPT 01365868.
Resolution
This is a known product limit. It is too risky and will not be fixed in the current version of the product.
