Symptom
- In InfoView, user was not able to retrieve data via Report Instance.
- Reports were based on Business View Manager.
Environment
- BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 with FixPack 1.8
- Crystal Reports 2008 with FixPack 1.8
- Oracle Database 10.2.0.1
- WebSphere Application Server ND 6.0.2
Reproducing the Issue
- Open Business View Manager (BVM).
- Create Data Connection (DC) based on Oracle data (Create New Connection -> Oracle Server).
- Create Data Foundation (DF) based on the newly created DC. Use Add Command to insert table, ensure you include a parameter value within the SQL statement e.g SELECT * FROM xx_Table WHERE field_name = '{?PARAMETER_PROMPT}'.
- Create Business Element (BE) based on the newly created DF.
- Create Business View based on the newly created BE.
- Open Crystal Reports 2008.
- Create a new report based on the newly created BVM. Make sure your parameter field has the following option set to editable. Show on (Viewer) Panel = Editable.
- Export report to InfoView.
- Open InfoView and schedule the report to run.
- Open the successful report instance. Click Parameter. The parameter panel appears.
- Change the value of the paramter. Click Apply.
Report data will not update as it will remain showing the existing data.
Cause
The issue has been identified and tracked under ID ADAPT01396808.
Resolution
This issue is scheduled to be addressed in a future Fix Pack.
