Symptom
Wrong data appears in a exported file when a Crystal Report is exported any format
Environment
Reproducing the Issue

Create a crystal report having sub reports in it

Create a formula in main report which contains a share variable getting data from sub report

Preview the report. Value appears correctly

Export the same report to XML or Excel format. The value returned by the formula changes in exported file
Note: The issue was observed with specific reports and not reproducible with inhouse data.
Cause
Sub-report is corrupted however the reason behind corruption can not be identified.
Resolution

Open the report in Crystal Reports designer.

Right click the sub-report and click 'Save Subreport As' and save it separately.

Now remove the sub-report from the main report.

Insert it again at the required location in main report.

Create the required links between main report and sub-report.
