• Running a report in a web application results in the exception:

An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime.

Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly.

Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) containing the correct version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium) required. 

• 64-bit Windows Server 2008 Intel Xeon CPU
• Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 (10.5.x)
• CRRedist2008_x64

The Application Pool for the application in IIS was set to run in 32 bit mode.

For 64 bit applications, ensure that the Application Pool is set to run in 64 bit mode.
