1467637 - Weblogic slow startup with Error: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /Server.log (Permission denied)

Symptom

  • Error "log4j:ERROR setFile(null,true) call failed.java.io.FileNotFoundException: /Server.log (Permission denied)" when the Weblogic Server is started.
  • It only happens when the Performance Manager war file is deployed.
  • The error is shown in the Weblogic startup log.
  • In a complex clustered environment this issue can cause slow or delayed start of Weblogic. Ex. 20-30 minute startup time versus the normal 2-3 minutes.
