1471508 - Logon error when connecting to Oracle database in a VS .NET application

Symptom

Connecting to an Oracle database
Using OLE DB connection type
VS .NET 2005, web application
Error:

Logon failed.
Details: ADO Error Code: 0x
Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle
Description: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified

Error in File C:\DOCUME~1\SYSENG~1\ASPNET\LOCALS~1\Temp\Report1 {155ED5E2-80F1-443F-960B-C2A2EFBD379E}.rpt:
Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters

Cause

The ASP NET worker process did not have rights to read the tnsora file.

Resolution

Ensure the the ASP NET worker process has at least read permissions to the tnsora file
