1471849 - Is it Possible to Change Work Agreement of an Employee after Hiring?

You may have a requirement to change the work agreement of an employee after hiring, such as change it to Retiree, from Temporary to Permanent and so on. But system does not allow the change of employee's work agreement after the personnel file is created.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Personal Administration work center.
2. Select Employees view.
3. Select an Employee XYZ.
4. Select button Edit and choose tab Employment.

Where it is not possible to change/edit Work Agreement.

The system does not allow to change/edit an employee's Work Agreement after hiring.

The intended change can be done only via a combination of regular tasks Terminate Relationship with Employee and Rehire Employee.

Upon rehire, a new Work Agreement can be chosen. In this way an active employee can be turned into a Retiree or changing from Temporary to Permanent and so on.
