1476945 - Unable to start the Tomcat Web server and can't view the Management Console

Symptom

When trying to run the Tomcat Service on Windows an error prompt appears stating

  • Windows could not start the Apache Tomcat 5.5.20 on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 0.

When checking the System Event Log the error says

  • The Apache Tomcat 5.5.20 service terminated with specific error 0 (0x0)
