Symptom

While upgrading from BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R2 to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1,

  • if we run the setup.exe, we get:
    Error adding Source to Source List.
  • if we run BusinessObjects.msi, it goes through but while specifying database credentials, it gives:
    Error: Cannot find the datasource check utility (dbcheck).
