Symptom

Group Header is duplicated

Environment

  • Crystal Reports (CR) XI R2
  • CR 2008

Reproducing the Issue

  • Create a report with three groups
  • ‘Repeat Group Header on each page’ option is used in each group
  • Suppress Group Footer 2 and Group Footer 3
  • From ‘Section Expert’ apply 'New Page After' with 'Not OnLastRecord' condition on Group Footer 3

Cause

The behaviour is by design

Resolution

Workaround available for CR XI R2

  • From Section Expert, click on Group Header 1
  • In the Common tab, click on the button beside ‘Suppress (No Drill-Down)’
  • Enter the below formula

       {Field_used_to_create_Group1}  <> next ({Field_used_to_create_Group1}  )

  • Click on 'Save and Close'
  • Click 'OK'

 Workaround available for CR 2008

  • From ‘Section Expert’ uncheck the 'New Page After' option and remove the 'Not OnLastRecord' condition on Group Footer 3
  • From Report menu, select ‘Group Expert’
  • In the ‘Group By’ section, double-click on the third group
  • Go to the ‘Options’ tab
  • Check ‘New Page After’ option 

Please note that the 'New Page After' option within 'Group Options' has been implemented since CR 2008
