1487760 - Server Error when launching .Net Infoview on IIS7 & Windows 2008 64-bit server

Symptom

  • Issue occurred after a fresh install of the product
  • .Net Infoview gives a 'Service Unavailable' error
  •  EventViewer shows that an ASP .NET unhandled exception has occurred
  • Stack text generated by disabling the custom errors mode on Web.Config show details as below -

    Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {E063B04A-CB8B-460E-99D0-F7D8FA2FAAA2} failed due to the following error: 80040154.
