Symptom
Unable to login to Crystal Reports Server when trying to open reports in Crystal Reports Viewer 2008 connecting to server
Reproducing the Issue
- Open Crystal Reports Viewer
- Click on Edit
- Click on "Configure Server Connections..."
- In "Web Service URL" specify <servername>:<port> of CMS
- Click OK
- Now click on File
- Click on Open From <servername>
- Get error "Cannot connect to BusinessObjects Enterprise at this time. Please try again later"
Cause
Instead of specifying the URL, servername and CMS port is specified
Resolution
- Open Crystal Reports Viewer 2008
- Click on 'Edit'
- Click on 'Configure Server Connections...'
- Select the Servername (If no server is added click on 'Add')
- Under 'Web Service URL' specify the below URL
http://<webservername>:<port>/dswsbobje/services
Note: Specify the port number of the Web server that BusinessObjects Enterprise or Crystal Report Server is using.
