Symptom
Sending mails from SAP system to an external mail address through SMTP node, following error status can be seen in transaction SOST for some send requests:
- XS802
- XS812
- XS806
- XS829
- XS855
The error message can be checked in more detail in transaction SOST (list of transmission requests) as follows:
- Find the appropriate send request with mentioned error status (XS802, XS812, XS806, XS829 or XS855)
- In column "MSG" double click on the error number 802, 812, 806, 829 or 855
- Click on button "Long Text" in the popup
- Under "Diagnosis" you will find more information about the reason, like relay/rejection problem
The following information might be displayed under "Diagnosis" (commonly used status information, which depends on the mail server):
- Relaying denied
- Unable to relay
- Relay access denied
- Relay rejected for policy reasons
- Rejected for policy reasons
- Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed
- Invalid domain name
