Symptom
- Get the error when viewing a report using stored procedure as customized data source location
- Creating new report from the same stored procedure has no issue
- The error occurs only when data source location is changed dynamically at view time
- Error: "Error in File <name of the report>: The Table could not be found"
Environment
- Crystal Reports Server XI Release 2 Service Pack 5 (CRS XIR2 SP5)
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a report using stored procedure in Crystal Reports designer.
- Publish or save it to Enterprise folder.
- Login to CMC as administrator.
- Click Folders then go to the folder where the report created at step 1 is stored.
- Click the report title, click Process tab, then click Database.
- Click radio button Use custom database logon information specified here, then specify new location of stored procedure.
- Click Update button.
- Click Properties.
- Click Preview button then get the error.
Cause
The issue has been identified and logged under Problem Report ID ADAPT01218364.
Resolution
The issue has been fixed in Fix Pack 5.4 for BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 but no fix is delivered for CRS XIR2 since CRS XIR2 SP5 is the final release for the CRS XIR2 series.
Workaround:
- Downgrade to SP4
- Use newer crdb_odbc.dll that is delivered with Fix Pack 5.4, Service Pack 6, or later patches for BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 or Crystal Reports XI Release 2
