Several Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\Business Objects\....\***.dll failed to register pop-ups during Crystal Reports 2008 installation on Windows 7 machine

Windows 7

Cause

Data Execution Prevention configured to block access to the registry

Resolution

  1. Click Start
  2. Right click Computer Name
  3. Select Properties
  4. Click Advanced System Settings
  5. Go to Advanced Tab
  6. Click  Settings in Performance section
  7. Select Data Execution Prevention Tab
  8. Check Turn On DEP for essential Windows Programs and services only
