1. Is it possible to have two managers per one org unit?

Unfortunately the 'intercompany' approach is not supported in ByD so only one manager at the time can be assigned to an org unit.

For this example, the customer wanted to have two manager for the same org unit so that the mangers would both be able to see the same transactions & data within a report.

2. Is it possible to have multiple manager for the same org unit on a different time-line?

Yes, it is possible to define a manager for an org unit based on a defined time line.

For example, we want to have Manager1 for the org unit A1 for September and Manager2 for the same org unit A1 for October.

This can be done as following:

1. Go to Organizational management work center
2. Select Edit org structure
3. Highlight the org unit you would like to edit, A1 in this case
4. Enter the desired date for the 'Edit Organizational Structure - Effective From' in this case as follow:
   • For Manager1 - We have a date from today save the org structure, with today's date, the date will then appear from today to unlimited
   • For Manager2 - enter the date 01/10/2010 and save the org structure the date will then appear from today to unlimited

 3. Is it possible to have the same manger for multiple org unit?

Yes, It is possible to have the same manager assigned to different org unit for different companies.

For example,  Employee1 is assigned as manager to org unit A1 from company A and  org unit B1 from company B.

4. Is it possible to have an employee assigned to the same org unit as employee and as manager of the org unit?

Yes, It is possible to have the employee assigned as both manager and employee for the same org unit.

For example,  Employee1 is assigned to org unit A1 as employee and as manager of the org unit A1.

Scenario:

We have two companies A & B.

Company A has org unit A1-A2-A3 assigned to it.

Company B has org unit B1-B2-B3 assigned to it.
