1507426 - Database logon fails when connecting Crystal Reports to MS SQL global temp tables (##)

Symptom

  • Logon failed error message
  • Logging on to MS SQL database and redirecting to an MS SQL temp table
  • Example table name; ##TMP240000034

Cause

  • Crystal Reports does not have permissions to read the temp table
  • There is no API that allows connecting using an existing connection

Resolution

  • Use publicly available temp tables (TMP240000034)
  • Use ADO .NET datasets
