1520520 - Could not write to read-only file: Java Model Exception

Symptom

  • Unable to create a project for a Development Component (DC) in NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS).
  • Receiving internal error .classpath is read-only for the corresponding DC.
  • For example, error msg "Java Model Exception: Core Exception [code 4] File /JID_TSTTRACK_D~DC_name~com.example/.classpath is read-only." written in NWDS log.
