Symptom
In HTML preview, text overlap’s when Command Object and Textbox containing text within it are placed adjacent to one another in Crystal Reports 2008.
Environment
Crystal Reports Designer 2008 Service Pack 3
Reproducing the Issue
- Open Crystal Report Designer.
- From the Database Expert select Add command.
- Type the sql command such as select "Testing12345678910" as Column1 and click Ok.
- Place the command object on the report on the report header section towards left.
- Go to Insert and select a Textbox.
- Drag and place the Textbox on the report next to the Command Objects.
- Now type some text within the textbox such as Testing1234567891.
- Now select the Command Object and drag the left and right ruler line of the Textbox in such a way that the entire contents of the text fits within the Textbox.
- Select the Textbox and drag the right and left rular line as above.
- Attach Command Objects right hand side ruler line with left hand side ruler line of the textbox, so that they remain adjacent to one another.
- When the report is previewed in HTML preview the text within the Command Object and the Textbox are overlapping one another.
Cause
Cause of the problem was not identified however it was not reproducible after applying following fix pack.
Resolution
Install Fixed Pack 3.2 for Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack 3
