Symptom

When logging into SAP BusinessObjects Data Services Designer, the following error appears.

EROR: Cannot retrieve <VERSION> from the repository.  Additional database information: <SQL submitted to Oracle Server <XXXX> resulted in error  <ORA-00942: table or view does not exist>.  the SQL submitted is <select VERSION from AL_VERSION>.> (BODI-1111340).
