1534145 - Error: "Unable to connect to CMS (actual name). A wrong connection is made to @@( dns alias name) Logon cannot continue." comes while using DNS alias name while opening file from Enterprise in Xcelsius

• Using DNS aliasname/clustername in place of CMS server while opening file from Enterprise gives below error:

            "Unable to connect to CMS (actual name). A wrong connection is made to @@( clustername) Logon cannot continue."

• Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 Service Pack 3

1. Launch Xcelsius.
2. Click on File\Open from Enterprise.
3. Give DNS alias name instead of actual server name in server field and above error message will come.

Note:

DNS alias works fine for other BO client applications.

The root cause of the issue is due an older version SDK being used in Xcelsius. This is a product limitation, as the older JDK needs to be used for Xcelsius to be able to connect to BOE XIr2 and XI 3.1.

The issue has been identified and logged under Problem Report ID ADAPT01503165.

Workaround:

Use IP address of server machine or @clustername or hostname of the server machine.
