  • Crystal Report throws following error while selecting Date Parameter.

Environment

  • Crystal Reports XIR2
  • Windows Server 2003

Reproducing the Issue

1) Create the Crystal Report using the Xtreme Sample Database.

2) Create the Parameter of type Date.

3) Refresh the Crystal Report.

4) Select the Date Parameter using the calendar icon. 

Cause

  • Insufficient rights on Temp folder causes this problem.

Resolution

Give Full Control on Temp folder.

To give the Full Control do the following steps:

1) Click on Start-> Run and type %temp%.

2) Click on UP button it will take to the Temp folder.

3) Right click on the Temp folder and click on "Sharing and Security".

4) Click on Add button.

5) Click on "Object Types" and select check box for "Computers" and click on OK.

6) Click on "Locations" and select machine name and click on OK.

7) In "Enter the object names to select" text box type "NETWORK" and click on "Check Names"

8) Select "NETWORK SERVICE" and then click on "OK".

9) Again click on "OK" and select "NETWORK SERVICE" and give Full Control.

10) Click on Add and in "Enter the object names to select" type in "LOCAL" and click on "Check Names".

11) This will add "LOCAL SERVICE" in the text box and then click on "OK".

12) Select "LOCAL SERVICE" and give Full Control.

13) Click on Apply then OK.

14) Rename the Prompting folder from non-working machine.

15) Copy and paste the Prompting folder from the server or from any other working machine which has the same version of Crystal Report installed on it to "C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\3.5\crystalreportviewer115 "
