Symptom
While previewing the report, Crystal Report Server throws an error "List of Values failure: fail to get values. [Cause of error: createRowsets ReportSDKException(-2147482892):Failed to open the connection. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 12154 ] Failed to open the connection".
Environment
- Crystal Reports Server XI R2 SP2
- Linux
- Oracle 10G
Reproducing the Issue
- Create the Crystal Report using Oracle Database.
- Save the report on Crystal Report Server.
- Preview the report.
- User should not have the "Administrative" rights on the reporting database.
Cause
It causes because connection is not verified by database.
Resolution
- Open the particular report from Crystal Reports Designer.
- Go to "Database" tab and update "Set Database Location".
- Use native connection for every connection in the report.
- In "Database" tab click on “Verify database”.
- Verify the database for all the connections used in the particular report.
- Save the report to Crystal Reports Server.
- Logon to Central Management Console.
- Navigate the report saved from Crystal Report Designer.
- Click on "Process" tab and then "Database" tab of report.
- Login to database with Administrative privileges.
- Go to the "Parameters" tab and set the appropriate values.
- Preview the report.
