Symptom
Font settings for data labels on x-axis for bubble chart in Crystal Report 2008 are reverted to default 'Arial' when format of the font is changed.
Environment
- Crystal Report 2008 Service Pack 3 Fix Pack 3.1
Reproducing the Issue
- Open Crystal Report designer->File->New->Blank Report.
- From the Database Expert Panel->Create New Connection->ODBC(RDO)->Choose Xtreme Sample Database->Tables->Select 'Customer' table and drag it to the Selected Tables panel.
- In the design tab->Insert the Bubble chart in the report header section.
- In the chart expert window->Go to Data tab->From the Available Fields section->
-select and drag any one field to the On Change Of section.
-select and drag any three fields to the Show Values section. - Click on OK.
- From the design tab->Select and Right click on any data label on x-axis->Go to Format Axis Label->Change the default 'Arial' font to any other font and click on OK.
- Refresh the report.The new font will be displayed.
- Save and close the report.
- Reopen the report,the font is reverted back to the default 'Arial'.
Cause
The option 'Auto Text' in Chart Expert->Text tab is by default enabled for all titles and is set to 'Arial' font.
Resolution
- Go to Chart Expert->Text Tab
- Format->From the list of titles->Select Group labels.
- Click on Font tab and change the font settings.
- Click on OK.
- The new font settings will be reflected on the chart after the report is reopened.
