1557437 - How To: Change the default logging directory on Linux / Unix

Symptom

As Business Objects consists of multiple applications which do not play together necessarily, there is a separate Log configuration for nearly every component.

To change the destination for all log-files, you will have to modify every part that actually writes a log-file. Also, you will have to remember to put in the correct logging destination each time you active Traces on Servers. Therefore the easiest way to achieve the BOE system to log to an alternate destination is to use a symbolic link.
