1560110 - SDM does not start: Another SDM instance is running on this host

Symptom

SDM server does not start either in integrated or standalone mode

In sdm logs under /usr/sap/<SID>/<instanceID>/SDM/program/log , facing following error message:

"Error: Another SDM is running already for this SDM_HOME directory. Exiting. Throwable: com.sap.sdm.client_server.launch.SDMRunningException Throwable message:Another SDM instance is running on this host. Error: Processing error. Return code: 4"
