Xcelsius 2008 Service Pack 3, Fix Pack 3.3

Adobe Flash Player 10.1

Microsoft Office 2003, 2007

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create Crystal Reports based on Universe(s)
  2. Create a Dashboard in Xcelsius 2008 based on Live Office Connection.
  3. Live Office Connection settings set to latest instance of Crystal Reports
  4. From File->Export option export the Dashboard to Business Objects Enterprise (BOE).
  5. Edit the Crystal Reports
  6. Schedule the Crystal Reports again
  7. Try to preview the Dashboard in InfoView and check the results
  8. In Xcelsius rename the Excel tabs and export the same to BOE
  9. Again make some more changes in the Crystal Reports and save them back to BOE
  10. Schedule the Crystal Reports again and try to preview the dashboard
  11. It will not display the refreshed data.

Cause

  • On renaming the Excel Sheet tabs inside Xcelsius Live Office Plug-in is not able to recognise the sheets again and is not able to display the refreshed data

Resolution

  1. Export the Excel outside Xcelsius from Data-Export
  2. Save to your hard disk E.g. D:\Test.xls
  3. Open the Excel sheet and rename the sheet tabs
  4. Save the Excel and Import it back to Xcelsius from Data->Import
  5. Map the components in case the mapping is lost
  6. Create the connections again from Data Manager->Connection
  7. Export the Dashboard back to Business Objects Enterprise
  8. This time the Live Office connection will display the refreshed data
