1572995 - Product Category ID is Pre-Filled While Creating a New Material

While creating a New material, You could find that the Product Category ID is getting pre-filled.

1. Go to Product Data workcenter.
2. Select New Material link.
3. In the new screen, Product Category ID is pre-filled in the Product Category field.

The system works as designed.

Pre-filling of the product category is not an issue but a requirement from the Solution Management.

The scenario where this would be useful is that when a user is creating multiple materials which belong to the same category, in that case defaulting the product category of the material which was previously saved is useful. The user in, that case does not have to select the same product category from the value help. This behavior is user specific such that the defaulting of product category would happen for the user with which you have logged in. So the next time New Material screen launched, the product category would be defaulted from the previously saved Material for the same user.
