1574372 - Examples of custom Restricted and Calculated Key Figures

From the Business Analytics you can create a new key figure either via the report wizard Design Reports-> New Report --> Select Key Figures (Step 2) or via Common Tasks -> New Key Figure.

Example 1: (Operation Income restricted Key Figure)

Step 1. (Define Key Figure and Select Data Source):

1. Enter the Key Figure name (e.g. Operation Income) then choose the Data Source Name as Profitability Management.
2. Choose Create a Restricted Key Figure and select the Amount Company Currency (AMTCOMP) Key Figure then click Next.

Step 2. (Restrict/Calculate Key Figure):

1. Choose the Characteristic you want to use for the restriction. (e.g. Profitability Line)
2. Select the desired Restriction Type. (e.g. Fixed)
3. Click on the Set Fixed Value Selections Button to set your restriction on Operation Income.
4. Select the desired Operation Income from the value help. (e.g. 0GREV Gross Revenue ZIA2 (Contribution Margin Scheme))

Step 3 (Properties):

1. Here you can specify other calculations/conversions if any.
2. Select Finish to complete the Operation Income Key Figure which is now ready to use.

 

Example 2: (Gross Profit % calculated Key Figure)

As preliminary step create a restricted Key figure and name it Gross Profit with the below restriction for the Profitability Line characteristic:

From the value help. (e.g. 0CMR1 Gross Profit ZIA2 (Contribution Margin Scheme))

Step 1. (Define Key Figure and Select Data Source):

1. Now the calculated key figure can be created as follows.
2. Enter the Key Figure name (e.g. Gross Profit %) then choose the Data Source Name as Profitability Management.
3. Choose Create a Calculated Key Figure then click Next.

Step 2. (Restrict/Calculate Key Figure):

1. Here you can see the newly created key figures (restricted) in the list of available key figures (e.g. Operation Income and Gross Profit).
2. You can drag and drop these key figures onto the formula work space  and add the operator to build your formula.
3. For example: "Gross Profit"/"Operation Income"*100

Step 3 (Properties):

1. Here you can specify other calculations/conversions if any.
2. Select Finish to complete the Operation Income Key Figure which is now ready to use.
