1580486 - Master Form Template Is Not Assigned To Form Templates

You have maintained a Form Master Template (e.g. with your company's logo); and you also set it as default. When you open a Form Template (e.g.  'Customer invoice' ), however, you find that the content which is maintained in the Master Form Template (e.g.  the company's logo) is not displayed in the Form Template.

To create a default Master Form Template:

1. Go to the Work Center Application and User Management
2. Go to the View 'Business Flexibility'
3. Choose 'Master Template Maintenance'
4. Create a Form Master Template; and set the Master Form Template as default and assigned it to a company
5. Click 'Edit' to see how the template looks like (For example, if logo is being displayed)

To check the Form Template:

1. Go to the Work Center Application and User Management
2. Go to the View 'Business Flexibility'
3. Choose 'Form Template Maintenance' and select a 'Form Templates'
4. Choose 'Change Master Template Usage' in button 'Actions' to confirm that the Form Template uses the Master Form Template

You see the contents maintained in the Master Form Template do not display in the Form Template

Master Form Templates and Form Templates control different functions: The Master Form Template is used to define the header and footer of a document; and a Form Template, on the other hand, is used to define the specific fields and structure of the document. Hence, when you view a Form Template, you are not able to see the maintenance of the Master Form Templates.

When you preview a specific document, however, you will see the effects of Master Form Template maintenance, and the same from Form Templates as well.

When you preview some specific documents, such as customer invoice, you see the maintenance in the Master Form Template such as logo, has been used in the document.

Furthermore,  if you want to display, such as your company's logo, in a Form Template, you need to press the button 'Action' in the view 'Form Templates', and uncheck the 'Use Form Master Template' box in 'Change Master Template Usage'. Then you can edit the Form Template manually.
