Facing error "TCP Provider: No Connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. State: 08001 A connection required to refresh this document is unavailable. (DA0004)" for Desktop Intelligence reports in infoview with free hand sql data providers in infoview.

Database: MS SQL SERVER 2005

Middleware : ODBC DRIVERS

• Desktop Intelligence reports not working based on odbc connection in infoview.
• Facing error "TCP Provider: No Connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. State: 08001]A connection required to refresh this document is unavailable. (DA0004)".
• Reports are using odbc drivers with free hand sql dataproviders.
• Working in client machine.
• Go to the server machine remotely.
• Now, launch the Desktop Intelligence application, test the connection for the particular free hand sql dataprovider and observe the same error.

DSN may not be configured properly

1. Logon to BusinessObjects server machine remotely.
2. Go to Data sources under Control panel>>Administrative tools
3. In the System DSN, test the connection and observe the same error.
4. Change the server name in DSN, to servername\instance name.
5. Now, test is successful.
