1586768 - Unable to Use the Database Expert Screen Options with Crystal Reports Designer and Business ByDesign

You are trying to create a new formatted report via Crystal reports however when choosing the Database Expert options some Errors are displayed:

• Invalid argument provided. Details: Please choose a Java Bean Class
• Logon Failed. Details: mscorlib: Could not find a part of the path
• Log on failed

1. From ByD system select the Business Analytics work center and choose Design Reports view.
2. Select the tab New and choose Formatted Report.
3. The Crystal Reports application should open.
4. Go to File - New - Blank Report.
5. The Database Expert screen will open.
6. No matter what option you choose some Errors are returned.

The system behavior is as per design.

The Database Expert screen is not applicable for working with the SAP Business ByDesign Add-ins for Crystal Reports. Therefore, click Cancel.

In order to create a report from the Crystal Reports you may do as follow:

1. From the Menu Bar, click File then New and choose the Blank Report option.
2. When the Database Expert screen appears click Cancel.
3. Identify a report to be used as a basis for the formatted report either via the Open Formatted Reports or Select Reports icons or Add-ins tab.
