Symptom

Xcelsius fails to open with the error message "Failed to create empty document".

Environment

Xcelsius 2008

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Make sure that there is no Adobe Flash ActiveX installed on the machine.
  2. Launch Xcelsius. 
  3. Notice that the following error message is displayed: 
    4. "Failed to create empty document".

Cause

Adobe Flash ActiveX is not installed on the machine or Adobe Flash ActiveX is corrupted.

Resolution

1. Download Adobe Flash ActiveX 9.0 or above from www.adobe.com.

2. Install Adobe Flash ActiveX 9.0 or above.

3. Launch Xcelsius and notice that the Xcelsius opens without any error message.
