1590074 - BI 4.0 web application deployment fails with "Malformed \uxxxx encoding" error

Symptom

  • BI 40 web application deployment fails with malformed \uxxxx encoding when the install path starts with "\u" (for example "C:\usr\sap\")
  • Wdeploy (wdeploy command line as well as Wdeploy GUI tool) did not work properly and gave the following error: "Malformed \uxxxx encoding. Ant return code: 1".
  • Use of wdeploy <appserver name> listapps command returns the same error
  • Wdeploy log file was not created in \wdeploy\logs folder
  • Issue is also present on Unix deployments if config.weblogic10 file contains default "as_domain_dir=C:\weblogic10\user_projects\domains\base_domain"
