Symptom

  • Retrieving large amounts of data causes the RAS SDK for VS .NET to time out
  • Is it possible to increase the timeout?

Environment

  • InProc Report Application Server 2008 SDK for VS .NET

Resolution

WARNING: The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. Refer to Note 1323322 for more information.

  • Using the InProc RAS the following registry key can be used to increate the timeout

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Report Application Server\InprocServer - EnterpriseRequestTimeout(min) = 600000 ( = 10 minutes )
